The Kumbal Perahera marks the opening phase of the historic Kandy Esala Perahera one of the world’s oldest and most revered Buddhist festivals. Spanning the first five nights, the streets of Kandy come alive with traditional drummers, dancers, fire performers, and tuskers.

A deep rooted belief among devotees is that watching the very first Kumbal Perahera cleanses bad luck and brings blessings. During these initial five nights, the tuskers walk in simple elegance, as the most elaborate ceremonial costumes are saved for the grand Randoli Perahera that follows.

Paying homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic at the Sri Dalada Maligawa, this initial procession sets the stage for the grand spectacle to come.

Fire Dance...🔥 🇱🇰

Fire dancing is not a mere spectacle; it is an act of devotion, courage, and mastery. With each spin and strike, fire becomes both companion and challenge, leaping, breathing, bowing to the dancer’s command.

Come visit Sri Lanka, and feel the pulse of the island itself, raw, fearless, and incandescent.

An amber-hued sunset that paints the whole world gold…🇱🇰

Sometimes we underestimate pictures that have a divine power to make you feel emotions that simply cannot be put into words. How a single picture could make you feel nostalgic or even evoke a sense of longing to be present in a moment that’s long since passed.

Gazing into this picture, it’s like I almost felt the warmth in the air and the salt in the breeze gently touching my skin. Here I am, adrift inside a picture, existing in a fleeting moment.

The sunsets spent on the East Coast exude a sense of calm and peace that one has to experience to understand. In the stillness of the world that surrounds you, you will find your freedom walking along the soft sandy shores of the Pasikudah beach. And when the world goes quiet, it’s nothing but the water and the beach that stands guard.

Travelling to Sri Lanka in the quiet season is actually much more rewarding than you think. With lower airfares, crowd-free resorts and peacefully secluded destinations, Sri Lanka is a tropical utopia waiting to be explored all year-round. As the climate changes from place to place, there is plenty of sunshine somewhere on the island. When thinking about your holiday in Sri Lanka and the best time to travel, trust in our expertise to help you plan a memorable holiday that will stay with you for a lifetime.
