🌍 International Travel Advisory: Sri Lanka Weather Update

🇱🇰 Important Notice for All Foreign Visitors in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is currently experiencing severe weather conditions, including heavy rainfall, major flooding, and landslides in several parts of the country.
Many areas in the upcountry (Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Badulla), Colombo, and some ancient heritage regions have been heavily affected.

⚠️ Transport & Travel Disruptions

Please note:

🚆 Some of the most beautiful and popular train routes are temporarily stopped, including:

Kandy → Nuwara Eliya → Ella (Upcountry Railway Line)

Badulla → Bandarawela → Ella section

Several other scenic hill-country trains

🛣 Road closures due to landslides and flooding in:

Hill country roads

Colombo suburbs

Southern and Sabaragamuwa areas

✈️ Airports are operating normally, but road travel to/from airports may be slower.

🛑 Safety Advice for Travellers

Avoid travelling to high-risk landslide zones or flooded regions.

Follow instructions from local authorities and your hotel.

Check daily updates for weather and transportation.

If you have train or tour bookings, expect delays or cancellations.
