Our story
Dating from around 1790, this is a colonial manor house without the colonial attitudes, and it retains it's natural air of tranquil mystery. The Polwatta River winds from the garden's distant end directly to the sea in Welligama Bay. The house is of significant historical importance locally, and is set in a secluded lane which leads only to the rivers edge. The people who live locally are kind and welcoming and always interested in travellers and their tales.
It is ten minutes in a 'tuk tuk' to Weligama beach, a few minutes more to Mirissa beach, and twenty minutes along the beautiful coast road to Galle....
