FIRST ANNUAL TOURISM PITSO OFFICIALLY OPENED AT LESOTHO NATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE

Maseru, 16th September 2026

The First Annual Tourism Pitso was officially opened today at the Manthabiseng Convention Centre in Maseru, marking a major milestone for Lesotho's tourism sector.

The two-day exhibition, held under the theme “Unlocking Tourism Investment and Sustainable Growth for Inclusive Economic Development”, brought together a diverse range of stakeholders committed to transforming Lesotho into a competitive tourism destination.

Present at the official opening were exhibitors showcasing Lesotho’s rich tourism products and services, visitors and government officials from the SADC region, development partners, financial institutions, tourism sector drivers, young entrepreneurs, and senior government officials.

The Pitso features panel discussions, investment promotion forums, presentations and exhibitions aimed at fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors and unlocking investment opportunities in the sector.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture through the Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation [LTDC], in line with the Government of Lesotho’s strategic priority to leverage tourism for economic transformation, job creation and inclusive growth.

THE FIRST ANNUAL TOURISM PITSO

The Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture, through the Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC), held a press conference today at Manthabiseng Convention Centre to announce The First Annual Tourism Pitso.

Officiating the briefing, LTDC Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Mamello Morojele called on Basotho in the Tourism value chain to seize the opportunity to showcase their products and services to potential clients and investors. She noted that the Pitso is designed to spark meaningful collaborations that can lead to breakthrough and transformation in the sector.

The First Annual Tourism Pitso will be held at Manthabiseng Convention Centre on the 16th and 17th September 2026. The platform will bring together key stakeholders from across Lesotho Tourism Sector for two days of engagement.

The program will feature Panel Discussions, Presentations, Investment Promotion Forums and Exhibitions. The Event aims to stimulate dialogue between the public and private sectors, while showcasing and packaging existing opportunities for both local and foreign direct investment.

The Tourism Pitso is in line with the Government of Lesotho's strategic decision to prioritize tourism investment as a catalyst for economic transformation, job creation, and inclusive growth.
