🚧 The World’s Only: the traffic-stopping, inner-beast-unleashing FLUXUS Festival is back!

On September 13, Jurgis Mačiūnas Square in Kaunas sets the stage for a truly one-of-a-kind tradition – when one of the city’s busiest streets, Parodos Hill, is closed to traffic and handed over to thousands of costumed climbers.

They make their way uphill however they like – dressed as cepelinai (Lithuania’s iconic potato dumpling), astronauts, storks, or even Sisyphus with his boulder. There are no rules, no winners, and no limits. Just one goal: climb together and celebrate creativity.

Tap and ride: contactless payments now available on Kaunas public transport!

Starting August 1, you can pay for your bus or trolleybus ride in Kaunas with just a tap – using your contactless bank card or smart device (phone, watch, ring, etc.) with NFC.

💳 Just tap your card or device on the validator when you board. That’s it!

🟢 A successful payment will show a green screen and a sound signal.
🔴 If you see a red screen, try again or use a different payment method.

Ticket info:
• Price: €1
• Valid for one person until the end of the route (no transfers).
• Works with Visa and Mastercard.
• One card = one ticket.
• Please tap only one card/device at a time – remove it from your wallet or bag.

During ticket control, just show the same card or device you used to pay. If you paid with a phone, show the back of the device. Make sure it’s charged!

Contactless payment is now available on almost all buses and trolleybuses in Kaunas. It’s fast, safe, and perfect for visitors who want to explore the city with ease – no apps, no cash, no hassle.
