Today is a highly important and significant day to Lithuania. 26 years ago The Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania has been signed bringing our country the most important of all values - the freedom. We are free and we are ready to make the best of it.

After 3 days of celebration annual St. Casimir's fair came to an end. All the streets of Vilnius Old Town were transformed into the endless market, offering anything: from the woolen socks to the tastiest smoked meat. Lithuania is becoming an undeniable attraction for cinema giants. After a success of War and Peace filmed by BBC, second Tolstoy's masterpiece will be filmed here. Creators of “Martin the Cobbler” chose a number of locations around Vilnius Old Town and open-air ethnographic museum of Rumšiškės.

We have a strong reason to preserve and adore our Lithuanian language. You might ask - why so? Firstly, it is one of the oldest languages in the world. Even wannabe Sanskrit scholars have to learn Lithuanian first in order to study Sanskrit. Moreover, a variety of Lithuanian words easily finds their equivalents in Hindi. Secondly, it sounds beautiful and is pretty hard to learn.
