Kaunas and Kaunas District to Become one big European stage in 2022!

Kaunas and Kaunas District have been getting ready for the most crucial cultural title of the continent for five years now – it can be said the international project has already proven to be a success. The change has taken place; the city, together with smaller towns surrounding it and the communities that make up the body and soul of Kaunas, have all activated themselves. The celebration of the uprising and creating the new history of Contemporary Capital are the key topics for 2022.

Around 40 festivals, more than 60 exhibitions, more than 250 stage events, and more than 250 concerts will occur in Kaunas and Kaunas District in 2022.

The beaches of Jūrmala and Nida were among the ten best holiday beaches in 2020!
European Best Destinations Organization (EBD) has selected 10 beaches as the safest for a post-Covid-19 holiday. The selection is based on various criteria such as low ratio of coronavirus infection, the size of the beaches and the number of square meters available on the beach per person. They also noted the availability of hospitals and the large offer of private villas, tourist apartments, small or medium-sized hotels with specific health charters and commitments to travelers, such as cleaning and room disinfection service after each stay and respect for social distancing.

is a modern-day across . It starts on the Lithuanian-Latvian border, spans 500 km across the country and finishes on the Lithuanian-Polish border, where pilgrims can continue to Camino Polaco, the Polish Camino.
Camino Lituano is divided into stages. Each stage is about 25 km long. At the end of each stage there is accommodation available (albergues) and places to eat and rest. Camino Lituano consists of 20 stages (or 20 average day-trips) from Latvian-Lithuanian state border to Lithuanian-Polish state border.
While walking the Camino Lituano, pilgrims will visit churches, monasteries, shrines, cultural and historical sites.
Camino Lituano is based on the idea of the Camino de Santiago.
