Yes, it does snow in Morocco, particularly in the Atlas Mountains during the winter months. The High Atlas region, including areas like Imlil, Oukaimeden, and Jebel Toubkal, experiences significant snowfall from December to February, making it a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts. Oukaimeden, located about 80 km from Marrakech, is one of Africa's top ski resorts, featuring the continent's highest chairlift. Imlil village, situated in the High Atlas Mountains, transforms into a snowy haven during winter, offering picturesque landscapes and serving as a base for treks to Jebel Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak.

In the Middle Atlas region, Ifrane, often referred to as the "Switzerland of Morocco," also receives substantial snowfall. The town's alpine climate and architecture make it a unique destination, and it hosts the Michlifen ski resort, offering various winter activities.

As of today, January 30, 2025, Imlil is experiencing cloudy conditions with temperatures around -5°C (23°F). A bit of snow is expected today, with little or no accumulation. The forecast for the next few days indicates cold temperatures with plenty of sunshine.

Volubilis is an ancient Roman city located in present-day Morocco, near the town of Meknes. It was the capital of the Mauretanian Kingdom before becoming a Roman colony in the 1st century AD. The city flourished under Roman rule and is famous for its well-preserved ruins, which include impressive mosaics, grand villas, public buildings, and triumphal arches.

Volubilis is a UNESCO World Heritage site and offers a fascinating glimpse into Roman life in North Africa. The ruins are spread over a large area, and among the notable structures are the basilica, the Capitol, and the city’s many residential and commercial buildings. The city's wealth was based on agriculture, including olive oil production, and its strategic location near the Mediterranean made it an important part of the Roman Empire.

The site was abandoned in the 11th century and largely forgotten until its rediscovery in the 20th century. Today, it remains a major archaeological site and tourist destination.
