🏁 After 2,000 incredible miles... it all went wrong just minutes from home. 😅🚐
After months on the road, I finally boarded the ferry from Bilbao to Portsmouth, ready for the last leg of an unforgettable adventure across Europe.

The crossing was smooth, the excitement of being back in England was real... and then, almost as soon as I landed, the VW T3 decided it had other ideas. 😬

🚐💥 The accelerator cable snapped, leaving me stranded on the roadside just when I thought the journey was over.
With no garage nearby, I had to see if I could get the van moving again with a roadside repair.
In this episode, I also share what it's really like coming home after months of van life, how I adjust back to everyday life, and answer one of the questions I'm asked more than anything:

🚐 After weeks of getting the van ready, the adventure could finally begin!

Before setting off, the VW T3 had to pass its ITV, I replaced the rear tyres, sorted a few repairs, and even managed one last freediving session in the crystal-clear waters of Bolonia. Then it was time to point the van north.

Over the next few days I drove 1,026 km across Spain, travelling from Tarifa to Bilbao via Sevilla, Salamanca, Valladolid, and Burgos, stopping at some incredible natural spring water sources along the way.

In the video I've also included the daily distance travelled and fuel costs, so you can see what it really takes to drive a classic VW T3 across the country.

It's a journey full of changing landscapes, peaceful overnight stops, and everything that makes travelling in an old camper so rewarding.

After crossing back into Spain, it was time to get the van ready for its ITV inspection. What I thought would be a straightforward test quickly turned into a repair job when I discovered the indicator switch needed replacing before I could even think about passing! 😬🔧

After six unforgettable months exploring Morocco 🇲🇦, it's time to continue the journey north.

In this video, I drive from Mehdia 🚐 through the breathtaking Rif Mountains ⛰️ to Chefchaouen 💙, Morocco's famous Blue City, before continuing on to Tetouan and finally Ceuta 🌍 — the gateway between Africa and Europe.

Along the way, I reflect on the last six months, the experiences that have shaped this chapter of the adventure, and what comes next. After having the van repainted in Morocco 🎨🚐, I'm also starting to seriously consider whether it's time to sell it and begin a completely new adventure. 🤔✨ Nothing has been decided yet, but it's a question that's been on my mind as this chapter draws to a close.

🚐🌊 Cruising Morocco’s Atlantic coast in my classic VW T3 — from El Jadida to Skhirat 🇲🇦✨

This road trip was all about slow travel, ocean views, quiet coastal roads, and the incredible people I met along the way ❤️

Passing through Azemmour, Tamaris, and Mohammedia, I experienced the kind of kindness that makes travel unforgettable. One moment that really stayed with me was in Tamaris, when I was stuck without cash and needed to top up my phone — a complete stranger stepped in and paid for it without hesitation 🙏

Later near Mohammedia, another local surprised me with a homemade salad 🥗 Totally unexpected, and another reminder of how warm and welcoming people in Morocco can be.

Sometimes it’s not the destinations that make a journey special — it’s the people you meet along the way ✨

Today’s slow start turned into an unexpected highlight in Azemmour 🇲🇦✨

What was meant to be a quick stop became a beautiful walk through history, from the old Portuguese fort built in 1513 🏰⚓ to the colourful street art hidden around every corner 🎨

The mix of ancient walls, quiet streets and modern creativity gave this coastal town such a unique atmosphere ❤️

Four months living by the ocean in Aourir, Morocco 🇲🇦🌊 slowly turned into something much more than just a stop along the road. What began as a short break became a whole season of surf sessions, slow mornings, mountain views, and a simple routine that started to feel like home.
But the road always moves forward 🚐⬆️

In this new episode, I pack up camp, say goodbye to Aourir, and continue north along Morocco’s Atlantic coastline — chasing quiet roads, coastal villages, and whatever comes next.

After 17 long weeks rebuilding my classic Volkswagen Transporter T3 in a small local garage in Aourir, I wanted to share the full reality of the project 🚐🔧🇲🇦

This isn’t just a rebuild montage — it’s a full breakdown of what actually happened during the restoration: the lessons learned, total costs, each stage of the build, what went wrong, what surprised me, and how long it really took ⏳💸

Over those 17 weeks, the van went through major mechanical work, problem-solving, delays, unexpected repairs, and the constant challenge of sourcing parts locally in Morocco. There were plenty of moments where I genuinely questioned whether the project was worth continuing 😅
Step by step, though, the T3 slowly came back to life.

In this video I talk honestly about:
- The full rebuild timeline
- The biggest challenges along the way
- Labour and parts costs
- Mistakes I made during the process
- What I’d do differently next time
- What it’s really like rebuilding a classic VW abroad with limited tools and resources 🌍⚙️

If you’re thinking about restoring a classic VW, travelling long-term in an old van, or taking on a big mechanical project yourself, I hope this gives you a realistic idea of what to expect 🙌
One of the biggest lessons from this build is that projects like this always take longer, cost more, and test you more than you expect… but they can also become some of the most rewarding experiences you’ll ever have ❤️
