Where old tales find new voices. Storytelling nights at Café Clock, Marrakech 📖✨

The Moroccan tradition of hikayat, or storytelling, dates back nearly 1,000 years.

Once echoed across every city square, it now lives on in just a few sacred corners.. Jemaa el-Fna being one of the last.

But thanks to Café Clock, these stories are finding a second life.

Every Thursday at 7pm, the café opens its doors to the Apprentices of Haj Ahmed Ezzarghani (RIP), a master storyteller who spent his life collecting Morocco’s traditional fables and passing them on.

His apprentices, dedicated young Moroccans, now carry the torch sharing ancient tales in Darija and English, keeping this endangered art form alive with every word.

The experience is free, the tea is sweet, and the stories stay with you long after they’re told.

Plan-it Morocco is a female-owned, fully licensed travel agency operating on the ground in Morocco. When Gail and Michele met ten years ago, they were both surprised to find that the only options for travellers to this beautiful and exotic country were bland, uninspiring group tours. They knew they could do better and started a niche tour company called Plan-it Fez. Their reputation and expertise grew as they opened up unexplored territory in Morocco for travellers and travel agents alike. In 2014, they registered with the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism as a full destination management company (DMC) and recently changed the name to Plan-it Morocco to better reflect their offerings.

We are a Western-owned company based in Morocco and fuse high standards and expectations with Moroccan warmth, hospitality, and culture.
