She dedicated her life to teaching and worship and was buried there. The second one is the minaret of the Koutoubia mosque: a 12 century minaret mosque and the landmark of Marrakech. Twin sister of the Giralda in Seville Spain and the highest edifice in Marrakech. An active place for worship, the reason why it is not accessible for nonmuslims. But it is worth having an exterior visit and stroll in the beautiful gardens nearby. Welcome to Marrakech!

It is a great joy being with a Botanist with a PHD degree to discover Northern African fauna and flora. Liaw is a great fun of plantas whereas his colleague Jeff ( retired soldier nurse) is keen on birds and all sorts of animals that live in the area.
The day trip around Merzouga made us learn many kind of desert plants - and many of this spicies exist in the home town of our fellow explorers.

That’s a great time to learn about desert species after a considerable rainy season.
( first time to know the name Ziziphus which I like)
