IMPORTANT TO READ 🇲🇦🕊️

Because of the current conflict in the Middle East, some travellers have asked whether it affects travel to Morocco.

Morocco is located in North Africa, next to Spain, more than 4,000 km away from the areas currently affected by the conflict.

‼️Travel within Morocco continues normally.

The only possible disruptions at the moment relate to flights connecting through parts of the Middle East, such as Doha, which many long-haul travellers use for layovers.

I have been in contact with several travellers flying through affected countries and arriving in March and April, especially from Australia, and for now the best approach is simply to wait a few days / week and monitor the situation before making any decisions about flights. Or check new flught options.

Morocco remains safe to travel to and tourism continues as usual. Do not cancel your trips just because of fear - Morocco is safe and highly depends on tourism especially April - most busy month in tourism approaching.

EID AL ADHA STARTS THIS SATURDAY 🐑 🐑

Are you travelling during Eid?

🚦Keep in mind many places in Moroco will be closed for June 7/8/9th.

▶️ However, the touristy places - museums, restaurants will remain open.

Eid Al Adha (or feast of the sacrifice) is one of the holiest events in Islam. It’s also called Eid el-Kbir, meaning “The Big Holiday”, and is regarded as the holier of the two Eids

In February, Morocco announced its decision to cancel the Eid Al Adha sacrifice ritual due to drought and a notable decrease in the country’s livestock population due to the dry seasons that affected the country’s agriculture sector for six years in a row.

Of course, everyone will celebrate the Eid, but without sacrificing sheep. Families will gather together for a meal and will celebrate without the traditional ritual.
