Traditional clothing is still part of everyday life in Morocco - but not in only one way.
Some wear a djellaba daily - for comfort, tradition, or practicality.
Others wear it for Fridays, family gatherings, celebrations, or special moments.
In Morocco, tradition isn’t frozen in time -
it evolves with everyday life.

In many parts of rural Morocco, animals are raised differently than what people in Europe are used to. They are not hidden behind industrial farms or separated from daily life. They grow up close to the family - fed, sheparded, loved by children and cared for with patience and respect.

When the time comes to become food, it is not something disconnected from life. It is understood, accepted, and met with gratitude. Nothing is taken for granted, and nothing is wasted.

For many Moroccans, this is not contradiction - it is respect. To care for an animal throughout its life, and to understand the responsibility that comes with feeding a family. A bond shaped by land, tradition, and generations.

"Moroccans are always late."
A phrase many people repeat…
But reality is more nuanced.

In Morocco, social time often feels relaxed - conversations last longer, invitations stretch, moments matter.
But when it comes to work, travel, or everyday responsibilities, rhythm changes.

Sometimes it's not about being late.
Sometimes it's about being present.

The argan tree is more than part of Morocco's heritage - it is a survivor from another age. Its roots trace back millions of years, to the Tertiary period, long before human history in this land.

In 2021, the United Nations officially declared May 10th as International Day of Argania, following an initiative led by Morocco. Today celebrates not only its oil, but the tree itself - its ecosystem, its cultural value, and the generations who protect it.

Mint tea may be Morocco's symbol… But step into a local café, and you'll quickly notice something else.
Coffee is part of everyday rhythm - morning conversations, quiet moments, and catching up before the day begins.

Tea tells one story.
Coffee tells another.

In Morocco, the humble hanout is far more than a corner shop. Found on almost every street, these small stores often open before sunrise and stay open late into the night, serving as an essential part of daily life.

But what truly makes a hanout special is its place in the neighbourhood. Here, people buy only what they need - an egg, a little sugar, some green tea - nothing wasted, everything practical. Trust still matters: credit is often given with nothing more than a notebook and a promise to pay later.

More than a business, the hanout is where neighbours meet, local stories are shared, and community stays connected. Small in size, but at the heart of Moroccan life.
