Hit the road, Jack? More like hit the ancient caravan trails! Following the footsteps of Berber traders through Southern Morocco's golden dunes had me humming a different tune - these ships of the desert have been crossing the Sahara for centuries, no GPS needed!
Winding through rust-colored kasbahs that look like sandy sandcastles touching the sky, our road trip took us deep into Amazigh (Berber) territory. These fortress-cities once protected precious cargo along the trans-Saharan trade routes, and now they're protecting centuries of stories and traditions.
Spent the night with a Berber family, sharing mint tea and tales under a blanket of stars. Their ancestors have been guiding caravans through these landscapes since before maps existed. Talk about the original navigation system!
From the towering walls of Ait Benhaddou to the endless horizons of the Sahara, every turn on this journey felt like flipping through pages of living history. And unlike Jack, these memories ain't never coming back no more -because they're staying with me forever!
