Montenegro is full of surprises, and here is another one. 🌲🇲🇪

Montenegro is among the most forested countries in Europe, with around 62% of its territory covered by forest, ranking just behind Finland and Sweden.

And those forests are not just statistics. In places such as Biogradska Gora National Park, you can walk through one of Europe’s last remaining primeval forests, surrounded by trees that have stood for centuries.

It is one of the things that makes Montenegro so special. Within a relatively small country you can combine the Adriatic coast, dramatic mountains, ancient forests, glacial lakes and national parks, often all within a few hours’ drive.

For visitors who want to experience more than beaches and old towns, the interior and north of Montenegro are absolutely worth discovering.
