Malta 🇲🇹
April 2024
Malta is a small island right in the middle of the Mediterranean sea, between Italy, Tunisia and Greece. It has always been a sought-after place during wars, but gained its independence from the UK in 1964.
You can really feel the influences from different countries. There are a beautiful mix of Italian, Greek and African buildings and a huge range of cuisines to choose from when eating out. I feel like Malta is the Singapore of Europe!
With cities, medieval towns, sandy and pebble beaches, and coves, it really does have it all - and all within 315km2.
We found prices to be very reasonable in Malta, and the weather is great for most of the year. The public transport in Malta is also very good, easy to use, and is used by tourists and locals.
Some of our favourite things to do in Malta include:
🍽 Trying the many different cuisines on offer, with the fantasic sea view many restaurants have to offer.
🛥 A boat trip to Gozo Island, Comino and The Blue Lagoon.
🌊 Visiting the Blue Grotto.
🌇 Exploring the quaint streets of Valetta, the capital.
🏖 Relaxing on one of the sandy beaches.
🏛 Exploring the 'Silent City', Mdina.
🏘 Visiting Pop-Eye Village.
Malta really has so much to offer, and is just a really beautiful place to visit. I'd highly recommend a holiday here, and with direct flights from all over the UK, including Newcastle, it really couldn't be easier.
