Lonely Planet named Kotor, Montenegro the #1 best city in the world to visit for 2016 in their annual Best in Travel countdown. What makes it even more flattering is that Lonely Planet is the largest travel guide book publisher in the world with over 400 staff. The capital contained a fortification, Montenegro's first state owned pharmacy, the monastery of St. Nicholas which was

Crnojevica Rijeka was the capital of Crna Gora during the reign of the Crnojevic dynasty, specifically during a two decade period where the Ottoman Empire expanded extensively throughout the contemporary boundaries of Montenegro. The capital contained a fortification, Montenegro's first state owned pharmacy, the monastery of St. Nicholas which was the seat of the Zeta diocese at the time, as well as the famous state owned printing press Obod which printed the first books in the Cyrillic script. The capital shortly afterwards moved to the Cetinje highlands where it remained the capital for some 500 years. Crnojevica Rijeka was Montenegro's main port and trade center during the dramatic reign of the Ottoman and Venetian empires. Today it attests to the perseverance of the people of Montenegro while acting as the main gateway to the incredible nature of Lake Skadar and its national park. The drone filmed video is amazing!
