Safi was born 700 years ago as a meeting place between farmers and peasants on their way home after the day’s work. Safi exudes the typical Maltese atmosphere that you can still find in the southern villages. Despite its small size, Safi has much to offer: the Xarolla Windmill, the Catacombs, and the Roman Wall that you can admire as you walk towards Church Square. Particularly evocative is the concert in St. Paul’s Parish Church, while a visit to the blacksmith is a unique Safi experience. This tour offers you the opportunity to mix with the locals while enjoying some typical Maltese food, or participating in honey tasting in St. Paul’s Band Club.

Kirkop has a great history and tradition. After the Annunciation Chapel, we will visit the Parish Church, which is dedicated to St. Leonard: a church that is more than 400 years old. We will also visit a limestone quarry, watch a stonemason at work and also have the opportunity to practice the same activity. If history means tradition, there is nothing more traditional than the preparation of local delicacies like the fresh “ġbejniet”, or cheeselets, which you will have a chance to savour.
