For years, we've shared a profound mission with an incredible team of scientific researchers, dedicated to tracking and protecting one of Europe's most endangered wild cats - the Balkan Lynx. 🐆
From the peaks of Prokletije and Hajla to the dense alpine forests, our partnership has been fueled by pure passion and dedication.
After years of searching and hope, our shared dedication culminated in an unforgettable milestone: capturing the first groundbreaking camera trap footage of the lynx in this region in 2024 (see our pinned post). 📸
But our journey doesn't stop there. This expedition was a beautiful mix of raw science and local culture. 🌱
Together, we scaled rocky terrains, hiked through steep rockfaces and carefully positioned new camera traps high up in the pines to safeguard the heart of the mountains. ⛰️
Beyond the field research, we absorbed the soul of the region - exploring the rich heritage at the Rožaje Museum, analyzing field data right on the mountain pastures and gathering around a table packed with authentic, hearty local food at a traditional village household. 🏡
We are proud to continue this collaboration, blending science with friendship.
