Climate In Madagascar
The climate is tropical wet along the east coast, tempered inside the land and in the north and arid in the south. The South-East Alizé generated by the high of the Indian Ocean, which moves over the seasons, dominates the island's climate regime. Madagascar has two seasons: a warm and wet season from November to April, then a dry, cooler season from may to October. However, the climate is very varied depending on the altitude and the situation compared to the dominant winds. The East Coast, exposed directly to the trade winds, receives the largest rainfall with 3 mm per year. Hurricanes, from the mascarene, are common during the rainy season. The Center, isolated from the alizé massif, is much more dry and, due to the altitude, cooler. The rain in Antananarivo (Capital) reaches 1'400 mm. During the dry season, nights can be very cool but frost is rare - it is more common at higher altitude. At this time, the sky of the plains surrounding the capital is considered to be among the most clear in the world. The West Coast is even more dry (Tropical Dry) because the alizé has lost a large part of its moisture. The South-East and the south are (Semi-Desert). Toliara (Southern City) receives only 300 mm of rain per year
