The Sahamalaza Antontorona Reserve in northwestern Madagascar is a protected forest and marine area famous for its rare wildlife and beautiful nature. It is one of the most important habitats for the blue-eyed black lemur.
The lemur species Eulemur macaco flavifrons — now called Eulemur flavifrons — is endemic to Sahamalaza, meaning it is found only there.
