The 𝗡𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 is easily accessible from Fort-Dauphin and makes a wonderful excursion to discover, in just a few hours, some of the natural treasures of southeastern Madagascar. Visits are accompanied by a local guide.

🐒 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲?
Several species of lemurs, including ring-tailed lemurs, sifakas, and bamboo lemurs, as well as radiated tortoises, Nile crocodiles, reptiles, and many species of birds.

Between rocky walls, inside tiny cracks, and sometimes almost directly on the rocks, 𝘃𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘁.

🌱 These are known as 𝗿𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 — plants specially adapted to living on rocky surfaces. They survive challenging conditions such as 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗶𝗹, 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁.

This discreet vegetation is a remarkable example of nature’s ability to adapt. 💚
