TourOnePlanet is a social business born in Madagascar with a mission to create the access that local communities need to determine their own outcomes of tourism. It all began with a simple question: How can so much money be spent by travelers, yet the people who live in these destinations remain so poor? TourOnePlanet launched its first online platform in 2023 and is preparing to release a signifi

cantly improved Version 2. The company works exclusively with local Malagasy businesses and freelancers, helping them market and sell their unique travel experiences directly to international travelers. By eliminating intermediaries and offering seamless online payment processing, local vendors earn on average five times more when they sell through TourOnePlanet compared to traditional methods. Today, TourOnePlanet features over 50 active local vendors and nearly 200 travel offers, with many more currently in the onboarding process. While the online platform is the company’s first major tool, it’s just the beginning. Founder Tim McGuire has observed that many Malagasy people have never had the chance to explore their own country — a reality he hopes to change in the near future by making domestic travel more accessible and inclusive. TourOnePlanet is only possible because of the belief, trust, and collaboration of Malagasy people across the country. The vision is that one day, TourOnePlanet will grow into a globally recognized brand, working in destinations across the developing world — always with the reminder that this movement started right here, in Madagascar.
