Ah, it's ajvar season.... When every neighbourhood smells delicious :)

The bubbling sound of ajvar slowly roasting on the stove, quality family time where everyone has a job to do, the one that has to do all the stirring always complaining, a messy backyard, all leading to the moment you take the first bite of fresh made ajvar with warm bread and some white cheese.

It's not only the peppers and eggplants that give the taste, it's also family, tradition, culture.

Macedonia's only island, Golem Grad is located in Lake Prespa. It bears a large cultural and historical significance as it was used in medieval and roman times.

Although its tourism potential remains largely untapped, the island is home to several ruined churches and roman houses and is a challenging destination for every adventure seeker looking to get the extra local experience.

Thread lightly though as the island is also a home to various wildlife, including snakes, usually accustomed to living with no people to disturb them.
