A one day boat tour, to the idyllic Globochica Lake, the underwater home of the old village Globochica, located in 20km distance from Struga, which was flooded in 1964 as a result of the construction of the Hydroelectric Powerplant – Globochica. Passengers will emerge into the quiet tranquility and calming beauty of the freshwater lake, a

dmiring the scenic views of the Amazon-like, green nature surroundings which are home of bears, lynxes, squirrels, different kinds of birds, deer and wild boars. Our entertaining tour guide will tell you stories about the fascinating road of the eel from the Ohrid Lake all the way to the Sargasso Sea in North America, and other legends and myths about this amazing area. After a one hour cruise on the lake, you’ll visit the beautiful new settlement Globochica, the newly built church St. Ilija and the monastery St. Antonija which is located on a 1 km walk up the mountain. On the way back from the monastery, in a village house ( or terrace, depending on the weather), a traditional lunch will be served. After lunch you’ll cruise again on the lake, and if you’re lucky and the water is clear, you will see the remains of the old village church.
