Latest news; the ban on forest movment has been re-introduced by the government and Makedonski sumi (national forests of Macedonia), ending at the end of september.
It is possible to obtain permits from Makedonski sumi to enter national forests.
The National parks have their own rules, so best to check with them online first.
We will keep you informed of any change.

The ban on movment in the forests has been lifted, and the heat wave is over, welcome september !

We would like to inform you that due to very warm temperatures this summer and a high risk of forest fires, the government of Macedonia has extended the ban on movment in the forests till the end of august. It is possible though, to obtain permission to go in the forests by registering with the local "Macedonian forests" office, which are in all the cites across the country. The National parks have a different system, and the information is online. The temperatures are very warm, reaching 40c in some places. So if you wish to go in the beautiful forests of Macedonia, please follow the rules and be very careful, it takes a spark to start a fire.
