Annual plastering of the Great Mosque of Djenne
The Department of Tourism has taken the initiative to organize cultural immersion tours in numerous locations in Dogon Country, including Djenné and Timbuktu.
The city of Djenné, which will host the annual plastering of its great mosque from May 30 to June 2, 2025, the first foundations of which date back to 1280, is planned. Therefore, the following activities are planned:
• Participation in the annual plastering of the Great Mosque,
• Guided tour of the old town (historical sites and local craft workshops),
• Courtesy visits to local authorities, traditional leaders, and custodians of tradition,
• Quran readings and religious chants,
• Creation and real-time dissemination of multimedia content on various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube),
• Design of a mini-campaign to promote the trip (publications, video editing, interviews, etc.).
