Update on Travel Conditions in Myanmar Following the March 28 Earthquake

Following the powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28 at 12:51 PM, impacting several regions including Sagaing, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw Council Territory, Bago, and Shan State, significant recovery efforts have been undertaken to address the damage and support affected communities.

In close coordination with regional authorities, domestic and international rescue teams, charitable organizations, and the people of Myanmar, the Government of Myanmar has been actively engaging in comprehensive relief and rehabilitation operations across the affected areas. Hotels undamaged by the earthquake, travel agencies, and tourism associations in those regions have resumed normal operations.

By visiting the earthquake-affected areas among Myanmar's tourist destinations, domestic and international travelers can gain knowledge related to earthquake hazards while also supporting local hotels and tourism businesses. This, in turn, helps create job opportunities and increase income for local residents, contributing to the economic recovery of the region.
