It is happening again. 😳
The winter weather has arrived in Japan, and we are getting ready to say goodbye to the fall leaves. 🥶 But remember - there are still plenty of spots to discover over the next week or two before the season officially ends. But with the cold winds blowing, we must turn our thoughts to the winter time - and that's when Gunma really shines! As we hunker down for a cozy wintertime, there is nothing we want more than to hop in the world-famous onsen that only Gunma can offer! ♨️
Kusatsu Onsen - which has been Japan's favorite onsen town for over twenty years - is a vibrant town centered around the most incredible hot springs you will ever see. The central Yubatake hot water field is the source of water for most of the surrounding hotels and inns, and makes for an unforgettable photo opportunity besides! 📸 One of the biggest things to keep in mind at Kusatsu Onsen is that it's a living town - unlike many popular tourist spots, Kusatsu has a bustling nightlife that continues after the day tourists have gone home. 🍻 So if you visit Kusatsu, you have to spend a night or two to experience night time at the Yubatake, vibrant Japanese bars and restaurants, and exploration of the fashionable streets of Ura-Kusatsu nearby.
