The country also ranked second in the Asia-Pacific region, underscoring a sustained rebound in inbound travel demand following several years of gradual recovery across the sector. Mongolia trailed Paraguay, New Caledonia, and El Salvador, ranking among the top performers in the global list of the 20 fastest-growing destinations.

The upward trend has extended into the broader first-half performance. In June 2026, Mongolia recorded 292,253 international arrivals, with total arrivals for the period rising 20.9% year over year, indicating that early-year momentum has largely carried through into mid-year results.

The growth reflects continued expansion in air connectivity, international promotion efforts, and improvements in tourism services, as authorities seek to reduce seasonality and position Mongolia as a year-round destination in regional travel markets.
