Not only horses catches our eyes… The Mongolian yaks are wanting in on the photo opportunity too!
The yak actually thrives in cold temperatures, much due to its quite oversized lungs (good for oxygen intake at higher altitude) and specialized blood cells. It’s a very important animal for the Mongolian people, as it provides meat, milk and wool. You will for sure spot them at our Altai Mt Trek! Either grazing the steppes, getting milked or just cooling down in the water, they are a joy to watch.
