Le "Festival de glace-2023" qui est organisé chaque année pour développer le tourisme d'hiver à Khuvsgul aimag aura lieu du 1er au 5 mars. Cette année, la fête des glaces sera organisée par le ministère de l'environnement et du tourisme.

Festival des glaces compétition de cheville sur glace, vélo, compétition de patinage, spectacle de moto sport, course de traîneau à chiens, remorqueur de guerre, compétition de torche, concours "Papa et moi", course de chevaux de cerf-volant, théâtre musical de province c'est une tradition où les artistes et les concerts d'art,la culte chaman et les rituels sont organisés régulièrement.

ELSEN TASARKHAI IN UVURKHANGAI

Elsen Tasarkhai is a part of the Mongol Els sand dunes, that continues 80 km long 5 km wide across Burd, Bulgan and Gurvanbulag soums of Uvurkhangai province. It is located 280 km west of Ulaanbaatar and 80 km east of Karakorum - the ancient Mongolian capital. The area is surrounded by sand dunes, hills covered with rare bushes and a small forest near a river. Together this presents a unique combination of Mongolian mountains, forests and Gobi-type landscape in one location. Local people call this sand dunes Duut mankhan (Singing sand).

Sand Dunes

Experience the lifestyle of nomadic family in a traditional Mongolian ger or ride the camel, walk on sand dunes, and relax in beautifully serene nature. The area is populated by the Maral stag (elk), wolves, deer and fox. The Elsen Tasarkhai literally means "an isolated torn-off piece of sand" and it is a small sequence of real desert in the midst of green steppes.

This stopover destination can be conveniently combined with the excursion to Khogno Khan Mountain for sightseeing of the Erdene Khamba Monastery ruins, which is only 18 km north from Elsen Tasarkhai. Also travel on horses and camels proposed by tourist camps this area. This destination is easy to reach within a days drive from Ulaanbaatar.

TRAVEL TO KHUISIIN NAIMAN NUUR

Location: 520 km from Ulaanbaatar, 70 km from Bat-Ulzii town of Uvurkhangai province.

Features: A must-see place for those who want to walk the trails of the Mongolian Empire’s glory and fall, is The area of Naiman Nuur, ”Eight lakes”, formed behind the volcanic eruptions that occurred all along the centuries. The park is 2400 meters above the sea level. An area of 11.500 hectares has been protected as a National Park since 1992. The eight lakes in question are lakes Shireet, the largest and the most beautiful, Khaliut, Bugat, Khaya, Khuis, Onon, Doroo and Bayan Uul. The national park is located in a high mountain area comprising alpine meadows and forests of conifers (Siberian pines and Siberian larches). In the North of the protected area, we can see entire valleys strewn with volcanic stones. The peaks of the mountains are arid. In the national park, we can see 50 species of birds, such as the black-throated loon, great cormorant, bar-headed goose, or whooper swan.
