2 days of non stop driving, 2 tyres, 1 dodgy ex soviet hotel, 2 nights camping on the Pamir, 2 close calls with visas and we're no longer under time pressure for overstaying visas! May have lost a watch and an iPhone to corrupt police, but we're out of Turkmenistan! Got a new Mongol visa for Henry and all is good! Hello Kazakhstan!

Turkmenistan, day 9

Having heard nothing about Isabelle, we headed to the British embassy to find out the prognosis.

SHE STARTS!!!!

Finally, some good news! The new sensor was fixed, and the engine is alive again.

We literally hugged the mechanic - there would be footage of it if Will had managed to figure out how the cameras work...

Now we wait for the padushka (most of the waiting has been sitting by the pool).We hope to be out of here tomorrow all going well, but our fate lies in the 'ninja wizard mechanic'. Fingers crossed.

Day 8 of our confinement to Turkmenistan. Isabelle now has one fixed sensor, and one broken one which we found out about today. Radiator, headlight and 'padushka' (engine mount) are still yet to be fitted. We have until Friday to leave the country. With the car.. This is gonna be tight...
