Mongolian traditional dance, known as Biyelgee is a profound expression of the nomadic way of life, deeply rooted in Mongolia's cultural heritage and a traditional Mongolian folk dance originating from the nomadic lifestyle. The Naadam Festival is Mongolia’s most important national celebration, held every July. It features three traditional sports known as the “Three Manly Games”: wrestling, horse racing, and archery. The festival dates back centuries and has roots in both military training and nomadic traditions. Naadam begins with a colorful opening ceremony filled with music, dance, and historical reenactments. Participants often wear traditional clothing, and the events highlight Mongolian pride and cultural identity. 2024 "ANNUAL GOLDEN EAGLE FESTIVAL-2024 schedule: 2024 October 5-6

Location: The festival will be held from October 5th to 6th in the Bugat Soum area of Bayan-Ölgii Aimag, specifically at the "Sayat" field in the foothills of the "Chandmani Tolgoi" mountain.

Festival Program: October 5, 2024 (First Day)

• 09:00-10:00 – Registration of participants (Eagle hunters)
• 10:00-11:00 – Opening ceremony of the festival /introduction of the program/
• 11:00-13:00 – To evaluate the eagle hunters' clothing and equipment, as well as how
well they have adapted to their gear.
• 13:00-14:00 – Lunch Break
• 14:00-17:00 – Continuation of the competition
• 14:00-15:00 – Kazakh national traditional game "Tenge Ilu" competition (coin picking on
horseback)
• 14:00-16:00 – Traditional Uranhkai archery competition

Naadam 2024 Program

Naadam Festival 2024 program, things to do on Naadam days, and events around Naadam Festival

During Naadam Festival, 4 main national sports competitions take place in their respective fields. The Naadam Festival central stadium, archery field, and knucklebone shooting field locations are in the same place in the center of Ulaanbaatar.

The horse racing takes place in the open field of Khui Doloon Khudag, 30 km west of Ulaanbaatar, and time planning is important as this road is always busy during the Naadam days.

Besides the major sports event, there are some activities, ceremonies, exhibitions, and shows at different places.
