Imagine arriving at a place where our stories come alive. 🌺

The Marianas Visitors Authority has unveiled a conceptual vision to transform the historic Japanese Lighthouse into a future visitor and cultural experience center—a place where guests can connect with Chamorro and Carolinian culture, meet local artisans, enjoy breathtaking ocean views, discover island history, and experience the spirit of the Marianas.

But this vision is about more than one landmark.

It's a call for all of the Marianas—businesses, entrepreneurs, artists, farmers, cultural practitioners, community organizations, and government partners—to help create the next generation of visitor experiences that make the Marianas truly Far From Ordinary.

Whether it's a guided hike, a farm tour, a traditional craft workshop, a cultural performance, a local food experience, or a story only you can tell, every new experience helps strengthen our islands and our visitor economy.

🌿 FAR FROM ORDINARY: Step into the Marianas you love!

Do you have an idea for a new visitor experience, service, or product related to our nature trails? Or just willing to post some photos or videos to help promote the Marianas? Join us for some inspiration at our upcoming Bird Island Nature Hike and be part of a growing effort to create new visitor experiences that showcase what makes our islands truly Far From Ordinary.

From scenic trails and breathtaking viewpoints to community-led outdoor adventures, let's epand the ways residents and visitors can experience the destination.

⏰ Registration & Briefing: 7:00 AM | Hike Begins: 8:00 AM

(UPDATE: Registration also open June 26 at the MVA office on Beach Rd.)

Bring your reusable water container and enjoy a morning exploring one of Saipan’s most iconic natural landmarks. The first 20 participants will receive a Marianas eco bag and cooling towel. Self-guided, and minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Today, we welcomed the first international flight back to the since Super Typhoon Sinlaku. Jeju Air’s arrival from Seoul marks more than the return of air service—it’s a sign of resilience, recovery, and renewed opportunity for our islands.

As international flights gradually resume, every visitor has the chance to experience what makes the Marianas truly Far From Ordinary: our breathtaking nature, rich history, vibrant culture, warm hospitality, and adventures.

Tourism recovery is a community effort. Whether you are a business owner, cultural practitioner, nonprofit, sports organization, government agency, or resident, you play an important role in creating meaningful experiences that inspire visitors to return and share the Marianas with others.

✈️ Airlines resuming service to Saipan International Airport:

• Jeju Air from Seoul Incheon — June 20
• Hong Kong Airlines — anticipated July (date to be confirmed)
• United Airlines from Tokyo Narita — August 2
• Philippine Airlines — October
