Holy Week In Malta ⛪️

The atmosphere across Malta and Gozo 🇲🇹 today is solemn but special as the predominantly Roman Catholic population commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Several towns and villages host Good Friday processions with devotees carrying statutes depicting episodes from the passion of Jesus Christ and others representing biblical personalities and Roman soldiers!

Senglea is one of the 3️⃣ Cities!

Also known as Citta Invicta, Senglea is a fortified peninsula lying south of Valletta across the Grand Harbour and straddling Galley Creek to the west.

Wishing you all a Happy Easter!

Easter is the most important religious event in Malta 🇲🇹, a predominantly Roman Catholic country, as it commemorates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

On Easter Sunday, a procession with the statue of the Risen Christ takes place in many villages and towns in Malta and Gozo.

The statue-bearers are joined by other devotees as they embark on short, celebratory 🎉 runs while carrying the statue of the Risen Christ to the delight of the crowds.
