Malta is a wonderful place for hiking in winter. The rugged terrain is dotted with wild flowers, the sea a deep shade of blue.

This is one of my paintings of one such beauty spot, L-Ahrax Tal-Mellieha, in the north of the island.

Malta is a beautiful place to visit in winter. The weather is mild and we still get plenty of sunshine. There are some lovely walks from and around Senglea. Just walk along the promenade and see where it takes you. You will be amazed at what you find!

"The apartment was very clean, well appointed and just as described; a perfectly modern and conveniently placed property for a couple looking for a fantastic base in a quieter and more traditional and authentic part of Malta. The host was incredibly quick to respond to any queries and both she and her friend David were very helpful and knowledgeable about the locale. We would definitely stay here again in the future. We loved it so much, we’re already considering a return next summer."

Senglea is a little gem of a town set on the Grand Harbour. Steeped in history, it is gradually regenerating and reinventing itself as a destination for the visitor who has an appreciation of beautiful architecture, authenticity and tradition. Originally built by The Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem, it has seen much turmoil and survived two world wars, hence it's title 'Citta Invicta'.
