Valletta is the capital of Malta, a small island country in the Mediterranean Sea. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its Baroque architecture, narrow streets, and historic fortifications.

Valletta was founded in the 16th century by the Knights of St. John, a Catholic military order. The Knights built the city as a stronghold to protect Malta from attack. The city's fortifications are some of the best preserved in Europe.

Valletta is a popular tourist destination. The city has a number of museums, churches, and historical sites. Some of the most popular tourist attractions include:

The Grandmaster's Palace: The palace was the seat of the Knights of St. John and is now the seat of the Maltese government.
