We had the pleasure of ordering a custom made leather harness for our Bengal cat from Captain’s Cut, and we were thoroughly impressed with both the craftsmanship and service. Keith Caruana is a true gentleman—attentive, dedicated, and highly professional in his work.

The quality of the materials used was outstanding, ensuring both durability and comfort. What stood out the most was Keith’s patience and meticulous attention to detail. He took the time to adjust the harness multiple times, ensuring a perfect and comfortable fit for our cat.

Another Perfect Meal at Papannis!

Back at Papannis,and once again, it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish prepared to perfection from the starter to the main course. The tomahawk and roasted potatoes was excellent and fresh while the fish was very tender and delicious.

To complement the meal, we enjoyed a bottle of Sicilian Luma red wine, which was simply delicious—crisp, refreshing, and the perfect pairing for our dishes.

Finally the Salty cream caramel with chocolate chip was to die for and very homemade.

The consistency in quality here is truly remarkable, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere makes every visit special. The service, as always, was exceptional. All the staff is very friendly especially Graziella which she is an absolute treasure—kind, attentive, and dedicated to making sure every guest feels at home. Her warm personality adds to the charm of the place. Jake, the owner, is incredibly professional and always attentive to all his clients, ensuring that everyone receives top-notch service. His passion for hospitality is evident in every detail.

Situated in Strait Street, Papannis is extremely popular, so booking in advance is highly recommended. If you’re in Valletta and looking for a fantastic dining experience, this place remains a must-visit!

Il Merkanti at the Valletta Food Market upper Floor

Il Merkanti, located on the top floor of the Valletta Food Market on Merchant Street, is without a doubt one of the best culinary experiences in Valletta. Whether for lunch or dinner, the food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

We had lunch once again, accompanied by a good Sicilian red bottle of wine – Esclamativo 🍷, which paired perfectly with our meal. My wife enjoyed the Beef Tagliata Salad, while I had the Beef Tagliata with grilled vegetables and roasted potatoes — both cooked to perfection, tender, and full of flavor.

A special mention goes to Bob, the waiter and barman, who is so gentle, kind, and highly professional in what he does. His recommendations are always appreciated and never disappoint — a true gem in the team.

What can I say? We’ve fallen in love with this place and all the staff. This family-run business shows love, care, and dedication in everything they do. We’ve also had the pleasure to try many times their other fantastic restaurants:
• Papannis in Strait Street
• Il Merkanti Village in Dingli
• Greyhound in Bidnija

Each restaurant is different, but they all have one thing in common — top-quality food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere.

This appetizer sets the stage for the main course: a hearty plate of Maltese traditional cooked rabbit that captures the authentic spirit of local cuisine.
