Summer may have been jolted with the current worldwide situation, but it didn't stop us from a wonderful trip up along the coast of Sicily.
The first day and night we headed from Malta across to the port of Marsala, which is known for its ancient ruins, fortified Marsala wine, and one of the homes to Donnafugata wine estates.
The trip across is 150 nm NE from Malta, so we overnighted through calm seas.
Three days exploring this coastal town in Western Sicily was just what was needed, with a highlight of an amazing wine tasting at Donnafugata.
After stocking up on the essentials (like wine) we headed across to the Aegadian Islands and visited the island of Favignana, which is known for its crystal clear blue waters.
Favignana is the largest island of the Egadi and the closest to the coast of Sicily. It stretches for about 9 kilometers, resembling a butterfly in shape.
After few magical days sailing around the Island of Favignana, dropping anchor in bays with the most pristine, blue water, we set sail along the South coast 150 nm East to Ragusa, which is a hilltop city in southeast Sicily.
Days here were spent exploring the seaside town, afternoon swims at the beach, followed by long lunches.
Ragusa is only 50 nm North from Malta, so expect to see us there more often.
Summer may be winding down, but we're aiming at enjoying each day ahead.
Until next time, safe sailing and fair winds.
