Annually Kiswah of the Ka'bah is raised before the Hajj season:

Why is the Kiswah of Ka'bah raised ?

• To protect and maintain its cleanliness and safety, and prevent pilgrims from tampering with it.

• Some damage is caused to the Kiswah due to tear caused by the Tawafeen.

Procedure of Lifting the Kiswa:

• The Kiswa is raised 3 metres.
• Wrapped up with pieces of white cloth (known as Ihraam).
