Tiger sharks are known for their size, strength, and inquisitive nature, making them a favorite among experienced divers seeking a more adrenaline-fueled underwater encounter. The diving season in Fuvahmulah runs from December to April, when the water is calm and visibility is at its best. Divers typically head out on a boat to a spot known as Tiger Zoo, where they descend to a depth of around 30 meters and wait for the sharks to appear.
As the name suggests, Tiger Zoo is a gathering place for tiger sharks, as well as other species like grey reef sharks, nurse sharks, and occasionally hammerhead sharks. Divers typically spend around 45 minutes at the site, observing the sharks from a safe distance and marveling at their beauty and power.
