Itinerary objectives: thilas with corals as it was Maldives 25 years ago, channels to enjoy pelagic and sharks, coral reefs and green turtles, mantas and the biggest wreck in Maldives, the British Loyalty.

Highly recommended to join 2 weeks Deep South down/up and Southern Hemisphere.

Dhoni

Diving in both boats are from a Dhoni, auxiliary Maldivian boat, of 18 meters length where air compressors and nitrox well as dive gears are. So it makes the noise of the compressors to refill bottles and humidity equipment is never a problem. 12 and 15 liters steel tanks.

The dhoni is completely independent of the boat so you can access diving spots where coral reefs come almost to the surface and divers’ collection is more comfortable.

Nitrox

We will not now discover the advantages of nitrox, especially for those who know, but the possibility to extend up to 20% the bottom line, no decompression dives as in Donkalo Thila, where mantas dance around us, or touring the southern channels between shoals of jacks, groups of sharks, rays and other pelagics, without having to worry about deco (simply a safety stop) has radically changed our diving cruises.

To increase security, important in a safari , often far from Recompression Chamber, reduce fatigue after 3 dives to enjoy more after-dive activities and visits ... not just the eat , sleep and dive adding discovery of the country, meet its people and its culture. Our NRC NITROX Membrane join systems, and our BAUER and L & W Compressors allow us to fill up to 32% our steel 12 & 15 liter tanks 3 times daily.

Rebreather Friendly

Our safaris are “REBREATHER FRIENDLY” and we can provide SORB (Sofnolime) and medical OXYGEN (100%) – both of them with additional charge, 300 €/week – as well as Booster pump.

An EVOLUTION and a DOLPHIN Rebreathers are available onboard for training only.

You can bring your Rebreather (ask for the availability of tanks for each week) and enjoy diving without bubbles in the paradise.

Fauna, already quiet on their habitat, will approach more, if possible, to the rebreather diver.

You can also make optional CCR Discovery with those equipment’s and make a course with us.

Discovery CCR: have tests on a real, calm dive, with a CCR – Evolution 100 €.

EVOLUTION user course: learn to prepare and test, training dives with exercises, 6 dives. Including certification (User training specific to each device) Rate: CCR EVOLUTION User 700 €

Sheets and bath

On each cabin there is a bath towel per person that will be changed in midweek.

Each person must provide their own toilet set as well as beach towels, in the boat there are not bath gel or shampoo as in the hotels.

There is NO towels "Exterior / saltwater" so we recommend bringing them from home.

Diving

Drift Diving is the most common in Maldives enjoying the currents; the dhoni will pick up divers at the end of the dive. The expedition leader is an expert diving instructor in these waters and you will have a guide on all dives.

Diving equipment

Bottles of 12 and 15 liters of steel, free air or Nitrox, belt and weights are included. You must bring your own gear and a decompression balloon with at least 9 meters out to signal climbs to surface and thus alert the skipper. Dive computer and spotlight / flashlight for night are essential (if not lack of lighting shall be allowed in the night dives, losing diving). A 3 mm long suit is usually the most suitable, although a shorty or lycra could also serve; suits of 5 mm or more are usually undesirable.

Rental equipment

We have limited sets of equipment onboard for those who want to rent. As we have limited sets, is necessary to book before arrive to Maldives.

Photography

We have available anytime a COMPUTER onboard where you could download, have a look, share and copy photographs.

Communications and Internet

In Maldives we have a good mobile telephony system with cover in 95% of the country; ask to your operator about the roaming, and the activation.

There is a chance of buy at the airport a local line (3 USD) of recharge, CHEAPER than the use of European line; if you are interested, you can buy a local line at the arrival in the airport.
