Cinco De Mayo celebrations! For many people outside Mexico, Cinco de Mayo is often misunderstood as Mexico’s Independence Day—but for Mexicans, its meaning is more specific and modest.

It commemorates the Battle of Puebla, fought on May 5, 1862, when a smaller, poorly equipped Mexican army defeated French forces near the city of Puebla. At the time, France was trying to establish control over Mexico, and this victory became a powerful symbol of resistance and national pride. A good excuse to have a beer in their honor .mx
