10 days. 4 states. 7 hotels. And a whole lot of miles.
When we started planning this trip, there were so many places we wanted to see and things we wanted to squeeze in. Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Jackson, Utah, Moab, Colorado…and somehow we actually did it!
But looking back, I don’t think I’ll remember this trip by how many places we checked off.
I’ll remember watching bison swim across a lake in Yellowstone. Wading into cold mountain water. Taking pictures with Vivi with the Tetons behind us. Driving through scenery that made us say “WOW” over and over again. Dinosaur tracks, petroglyphs, hot springs, rafting, ridiculously hot Utah days, lots of time in the car, and yes…even planning a hotel stop around being close to a Swig. 😂
There were early mornings, constantly repacking suitcases, long drives, changing plans on the fly and plenty of moments when we were completely exhausted.
And I’d do it all again.
Vivi is 13 now, and I’m very aware that these years of the three of us packing up and heading somewhere together aren’t unlimited. That probably made me take this trip in a little differently.
We covered a lot of ground over the last 10 days, but the part I’ll remember most is simply getting to experience all of it together.
And this photo of the three of us with the Tetons behind us? I think it might be one of my favorites from the entire trip. 💕
If you’re planing a trip out West is on your bucket list, I’d be honored to help you plan it ☺️
