"This was an incredible experience. A must do for folks visiting cancun between June and August. I was a bit anxious about the long boat ride in open water. Especially since by regulation the boat cannot exceed a certain size. However the team at 4 World Expeditions went out of their way to make me comfortable. The car pickup was top notch. Carlos, the driver was superb. The guide came to the hotel as well. His name was Tona and he handheld me right from that point on until the drop off back at the hotel. He was capable, attentive and efficient on the boat and while we were in the water. And even took some great videos of me with the whale shark!
Couple of tips: it is indeed a long journey and we had moderate ocean waves. Plus while everyone is jumping in for the sharks, you have to wait on the boat which can be a little unstable. I took a tablet of Dramamine which really helped. Tona had brought our own equipment which was customised and sanitised. Jorge, the captain, was an expert at handling the boat. The stop in Isla Mujeres is much needed to break the long journey and get some R&R. It was super fun!"
