Big news for travelers in Virginia! ✈️

Breeze Airways has announced a brand new nonstop route between Richmond International Airport and Cancun beginning January 8, 2027! This will be the first direct flight between Richmond and Cancun in more than a decade, making it easier than ever for travelers to head straight to Mexico’s Caribbean coast without layovers or connections.

The new route is expected to save travelers both time and stress. It also opens up more vacation possibilities for quick getaways, long weekends, and winter escapes from the cold. The RIC-CUN route will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays. We’ve flown Breeze about a half dozen times ourselves and have really enjoyed the airline!

You can only pick one for the entire vacation:

🏖️ Beach
🏊 Pool

No switching! What gets your vote?

I have to go pool, because, as many of you may know, I hate getting sandy!

Client review from Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres :

Hi Brittney,
We just want to thank you again for another wonderful trip!!! We loved the resort, and want to thank you for the building request. We got room 4005, which was perfect, and in an excellent location to everything! Loved the extra room and it made it so much more homey. We had a slight issue with the safe, but staff was quick with the fix. I personally loved the private pool at our room. I utilized it a lot, because I wanted quiet especially at the beginning of our trip.

The food was incredible especially the steakhouse and Italian. Our only slight complaint was the breakfast buffet. It was kind of a let down , but we aren’t huge buffet people anyway so it wasn’t a huge deal.

The whole trip went off without any problems, and for that we want to thank you. The private transportation was early at the airport so we maybe had to wait 5 minutes until off to paradise!!!

We look forward to using your services again in the future, and we tell everyone we know how excellent you are as an agent.

I’m excited to share that we already have a few couples booked with us at this September! If you can’t make that one, maybe you can join us in October or December instead.

I won’t be sharing exact travel dates publicly, but both trips are planned for around the middle of the month. If you’re interested in joining us, send me an email and we can chat more!

In October, we’ll be spending 4 nights at the newly renovated Hyatt Zilara Cancun. Pricing starts around $2,750 for 2 adults in an entry-level room, including private airport transfers for a 4-night stay.

In December, you can join us at Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana. Pricing for 4 nights in an entry-level room with private transfers starts around $3,100 for 2 adults. If you’d prefer upgraded club-level accommodations, pricing starts around $3,900.

You’re welcome to stay as long as you’d like. Just because we’re staying 4 nights doesn’t mean you can’t stay 7!

Email me at [email protected] if you’d like pricing for your exact travel dates and preferred room type!

The long-awaited Nichupté Bridge in Cancun is officially OPEN! The new 11.2 km (almost 7 mile) bridge is designed to reduce travel times between Cancun’s Hotel Zone and the mainland, helping ease one of the area’s biggest frustrations, traffic.

Traffic officially began crossing the bridge on May 6. The bridge is expected to improve airport transfers, excursions, and overall access to the Hotel Zone, especially during busy travel seasons.

It will also serve as an additional evacuation route during hurricane season, making travel in the area safer and more efficient overall!

Client review from Secrets Mirabel Cancun Resort & Spa. They did an offsite cooking class I recommended, so that part is not a resort activity.

Hi Brittany, sorry for the delay in response. We had an eventful flight where we got diverted on Saturday and didn’t end up walking into the house until 4 AM on Sunday morning. Storms in DFW caused the diversion.

We had a wonderful time at Secrets Mirabel. It was a beautiful resort and the service was excellent. The food was amazing and our favorite was Bluewater Grill as you had mentioned it is definitely a high-rise hotel type of resort which is much different than where we usually stay in more of a tropical setting. It was definitely a great resort especially for the price point. We loved our room. It was on the ninth floor a corner room so we had no one above us in an unobstructed view of the ocean.

We did the recommended cooking class at Mayakoba and it was amazing. It was just my husband and I as it was a private class with the chef in about three kitchen assistance, we got to make two different entrées, a salsa and a guacamole. They were all delicious. They even sent us the recipes via email so that we could re-create the dishes at home which we are very much looking forward to doing as soon as we have a free moment.

We really appreciate you booking this trip for us. Everything went very smoothly, including the transfer back to the airport where I had originally given you the incorrect flight information they were there at 2:30 on the dot to pick us up and even had a cooler with corona and waters in it for the drive over. It is about a 15 minute transfer back to the airport no issues with a Cancun airport this time.

Normally we get searched in fact I don’t believe there’s been a time that we’ve traveled to Cancun where we haven’t been pulled aside and searched but this time we were not we also did carry-on only for the first time although it did definitely expedite the arrival and departure in the airport. I don’t believe that I’ll be trying to manage carry-on only again I just like to take too many outfits and trying to stuff them into two bags just wasn’t the easiest lol

Again we really appreciate everything you did and helping us to book and plan this trip and we will be reaching out for our next trip to Mexico as soon as we decide where exactly it is, we want to go looking at Atelier and also Secrets Playa Blanca, we have very much enjoyed your blogs on both of those resorts, now it’s just a matter of deciding, which will be the best fit for the next trip.

Ethan had his senior prom this weekend, and I wanted to share a few pictures since so many of you have enjoyed following him over the years. Being a boy mom is SO different than what I imagine girl moms deal with!

My entire prom prep consisted of taking him to get fitted for a suit a few weeks ago. Day of, I cleaned up the back of his neckline, adjusted his tie, handed him a pair of no-show socks, and that was basically it.

Meanwhile, he worked from 5-9am, went to help his girlfriend’s dad with something unrelated to prom, took a nap, woke up at 3:30pm, showered, and was out the door for pictures by 4:20pm.

I’m pretty sure girl moms have been planning and organizing for weeks at this point 😂

Hotel Mousai Travel Day Home ✈️

We started our last morning with breakfast at NOI. I loved the eggs Florentine so much earlier in the trip that I ordered them again! Kevin got a breakfast burrito that he said was amazing, and we shared the yummiest French toast for the table.

After breakfast, we finalized packing, checked out, and headed to the airport. Our shuttle picked us up at 8:35am, and the drive took just 37 minutes.

The airport experience was super easy, and we relaxed in the Priority Pass lounge until boarding. We had an on time departure, but then came the long DFW layover… almost 5 hours! That’s the downside of flying to the west coast. We can make the trip there more enjoyable with an overnight layover, but going home we always just want to get back as quickly as possible, even if it means long airport sits.

We spent the layover hanging out in the AA lounge before boarding our final flight home. Since it was American Airlines’ 100th anniversary celebration, they had some “fancy” meal options onboard. I had beef Wellington, and Kevin chose the short ribs dish. Definitely a huge upgrade from the grilled chicken we had on the first leg.

Nothing too exciting after that. We were just happy to finally get home and see our babies 🐾❤️
