2024 Hines Sights Recap!

7 Countries Visited
- 🇦🇼 Aruba
- 🇳🇿 New Zealand
- 🇫🇯 Fiji
- 🇦🇺 Australia
- 🇸🇬 Singapore
- 🇲🇾 Malaysia
- 🇹🇭 Thailand

Flew 37,292 miles on 10 different airlines to 9 different countries, and got to experience first class for the first time! All while getting to cross things off of my bucket list with some of my closest friends in foreign countries.

Not to mention traveling domestically to Oklahoma, Arizona, & Florida for desert hikes, exploring the Smokys, and enjoying the soft white sand on the beaches.

I also started my career as a family medicine doctor and moved from Texas to Tennessee to continue my training!

Even though residency takes up a lot of my time, I can’t wait to continue sharing all of these adventures and show you how to make your travel dreams a reality. Cheers to 2025!

Day 4 was wet & wild! We started the day zip lining through the canopy along the Kaituna River where we also learned about the Māori culture and the history of the silver fern of New Zealand and how it symbolizes living forward together.

Bryce insisted on white water rafting on this trip, and I couldn’t be happier that he suggested it. This was the first time I’ve been white water rafting, and it was a blast!

We went with and had team Texas, team Ireland, and team Japan/Korea in our raft as we headed down the river. We said a Māori blessing to Chief Tutea and then it was time to head down the river and down Tutea Falls which is the highest commercially-rafted waterfall in the world at 7 meters (23 ft). Our raft went fully underwater which was pretty wild. I couldn’t have possibly had more fun and can’t wait for my next rafting experience!

Day 3 - Started off with a trip to Waitomo to do some black water rafting and check out the glowworms that the region is famous for! We explored the caves going about 200ft underground in pitch black and intertwined down the rivers that ran through the cave! We barely missed seeing who ended up doing the same tour as us a couple days later!

Then, we cut across the beautiful New Zealand countryside where there was no shortage of cows! We ended up in Rotorua which smells like sulfur due to the nearby sulfur springs.

On the edge of town, there is the Whakarewarewa Forest Park which is now sonically home to a forest of California redwood trees! The tallest one in the forest stood about 195ft tall! The forest was gorgeous, and I had to come back just to jog through it again.
