¿Cuál es la historia de Cancún?

Cancún es una ciudad ubicada en la península de Yucatán, en el estado de Quintana Roo, México. La historia de Cancún se remonta a la época prehispánica, cuando la región estaba habitada por los mayas. Sin embargo, la ciudad moderna de Cancún fue fundada el 20 de abril de 1970, como un proyecto turístico y económico del gobierno mexicano.

Antes de la llegada de los españoles, la región de Cancún era una zona de paso y comercio para los mayas. Después de la conquista española, la zona quedó prácticamente abandonada y despoblada.

En la década de 1960, el gobierno mexicano decidió desarrollar la región como un destino turístico, aprovechando sus playas de arena blanca y aguas cristalinas. Se construyó un aeropuerto internacional y se diseñó una ciudad planificada para albergar a los turistas.

En pocos años, Cancún se convirtió en uno de los destinos turísticos más populares de México, gracias a su belleza natural, su rica cultura maya y su infraestructura hotelera. Hoy en día, Cancún es una ciudad vibrante y cosmopolita, que atrae a millones de visitantes cada año.

La ciudad celebra su aniversario el 20 de abril, aunque el post que mencionas dice el 19 de abril, parece ser una pequeña discrepancia en la fecha exacta de fundación. De cualquier manera, Cancún es una ciudad con una rica historia y un futuro prometedor.
