I was fortunate to live on this gorgeous island for 11 years and raise my third daughter, little Bahiana that she is. 🇧🇷🏝️

It's a unique and very special place.

I will be leading a tour/retreat/experience in Bahia in March, 2025.
A few days in the capital city of Salvador experiencing the Afro-Brazilian culture there, followed by five days of island life – gorgeous beaches, delicious food, dance classes, Ketta, exploring, massage, snorkeling.....village life.
For those that can stay for the full trip, will then head south for another experience with more gorgeous beaches, hiking, waterfalls.

Anjali and I were traveling around Bahia a bit in 2004 when we decided to visit the island of Boipeba. The first person I met was Bio, a local guide.

I asked if he would accompany us one day to explore the island (and help carry Anjali a bit).

Once I bought land there he helped out for a while preparing the land for me to build.

Bio now owns a lovely little barraca on the beach where his wife cooks up fresh fish and he waits on customers and makes art from shells.
Most days his parents are there at the restaurant helping out, along with his children and grandchild. 🇧🇷🦜🏝️

Hi Friends,

I haven't posted about Kenya in a while, but I am still working on raising money for several projects there.

At the moment, I'm really hoping to raise $230 to pay for another semester of university for Ramson.

Ramson is from the Maasai tribe, a semi-nomadic people that are no longer able to support themselves in their traditional ways of herding animals.
These days it's very common to see Maasai men in the touristy towns of Kenya selling their family's beadwork, carvings, and other handcrafted art.

Ramson comes from an area called Amboseli and is one of two people in his tribe that graduated from high school. The other is a young woman who was married off and will not be permitted to continue her education.
Ramson is the first to go to university and plans to get a job that will allow him to support his younger siblings and other community members, to study.
Although his father has 3 wives and 21 children, Ramson says he plans to marry just one woman and have only two kids.😄
